Alternative Gift Fair

Too often in our culture, the focus of Christmas is on consumerism. As a church, we want to shift the focus back toward the birth of Christ and who we are called to be as his followers. Therefore, this year, for the third year, we will offer an Alternative Gift Fair, known as “Mall-ternative,” at Christ United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. There will be wonderful options for holiday shopping as an alternative to the crowded mall, so that’s why it’s called “Mall-ternative”!

There will be ministries from and supported by Christ UMC offering items like baked goods, handcrafted gifts, books, holiday décor, fair trade goods and much more! Some of the ministries represented include Community Care Fellowship, The Bethlehem Centers of Nashville, Thistle Farms, Christ UMC’s Nicaragua Project and Prison Ministry, Open Table, Habitat for Humanity, Graceworks, Miriam’s Promise, 61st Avenue UMC and more. The Children’s Ministry and Orbit Youth Group from Christ UMC will also have some very special items and opportunities to support relationships with Christ, with one another and with God’s hurting world.

The Christ United Methodist Church Alternative Gift Fair will be Saturday, November 19th from 9am-4pm and then again Sunday morning, November 20 from 9am-1pm (before, during and after the Sunday School hour and late worship service). Be on the lookout for more details as the date draws near. Please contact us with any questions.
