Here are some of the Events we have going on at & through the church:

 

 

Wonderfully Made Children’s Class, August 12 – September 16

Each year we run a month-long program about human sexuality, specifically for our 5th and 6th graders. “Wonderfully Made,” as the class is called, is carefully and tastefully executed under the supervision of Aimee Cox our Director of Children’s Ministry, and offers a healthy sex-education class with a focus on Christian values. Book Club, August 19

Our next Christ UMC Book Club will be in August, and we will be discussing the book “Clock Dance” by Anne Tyler. Please feel free to read this book and join us on Sunday, August 19 at 4pm at the Cool Springs Panera to discuss. For more info, contact Janet Phelps.

 

 

Ladies’ Night Out, August 21

Our next gathering is Tuesday, August 21, at 6:30 pm. We will be dining at Uncle Julio’s, located at 209 Franklin Road in Brentwood. This is in the new part of the Hill Center. If you are interested in attending, please contact Irene Archambault by August 16. Newcomers welcome!

 

 

Wednesday Night Together, August 22

Our Wednesday Night Together dinner and activities program returns after the annual summer hiatus. The first WNT will be on Wednesday, August 22 — the meal will be spaghetti and meatballs. We do need volunteers for the year. Please learn more and volunteer HERE.

 

 

Enneagram Class, August 25

The Enneagram: A Journey Toward Wholeness will be a one-day session led by our own Ben Papa. Time is 9AM-4PM in the small sanctuary. Cost is $10 and includes lunch. The Enneagram is an ancient psychological/spiritual system that helps people understand who they are and why they do what they do at a deep level.  To learn  more and sign up CLICK HERE.

 

 

Children’s Ministry Parent Meeting, August 26

Aimee Cox will be leading the annual parent meeting for Children’s Ministry on Sunday, August 26. All parents, please meet in the main sanctuary during the Sunday school hour (9:45 am), as we outline and discuss the upcoming year and activities.

 

 

Youth Group Kickoff, August 26

It’s “Wacky Tacky Kickoff!” Sunday, August 26, 5pm. Raid your grandma’s closet or grab a couple things at Goodwill (< $10) and come in your wackiest, tackiest attire. Awards will be given for best outfits and group theme! Dinner served…

 

 

Dementia Caregivers Support Group, August 28

If you’re a caregiver for someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s, please join us for our monthly meeting—caregivers only. 11am –12pm in the fellowship hall the 4th Tuesday monthly. For more information, contact Steve Middlebrooks.

 

 

Fun, Food, and Water Games, August 29

A special WNT: Dinner 5:30 Water games 6-6:45. God’s precious gift of water reminds us of a divine love that gives, flows, and reaches everywhere. As a goodbye to summer, let’s come together for a fun night of eating, laughter, and water play! Wear clothes that can get wet! Bring yourself. Bring a friend. But, for sure bring a towel!
